Project PLAY and Pre-Admission Learning
Your child or teen needs surgery, now what?
Surgery and hospitalization can be a very frightening experience for a child of any age. At Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, we have found that offering just the right amount of careful, honest preparation before admission can help your child cope more positively with these experiences.
Project PLAY (Pre-Admission Learning And You) is a free teaching and tour program designed to help reduce fears about surgery. The program is led by a certified Child Life Specialist, and uses special teaching models and real medical equipment to help you and your child understand what to expect before, during and after surgery.
To make a reservation for a Project PLAY session, please call (321) 841-1203 at least one week in advance.
