Sandi Conrad, RD, LDN

Genetics

Sandi Conrad, RD, LDN, is a pediatric metabolic dietitian with the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Division of Genetics.

Sandi earned a BS in Food Science and Human Nutrition, graduating cum laude, from the University of Florida, Gainesville. She completed a dietetic internship at Medical College of Virginia Hospitals, Richmond. She is a member of Genetic Metabolic Dietitians International.

Sandi has been treating children with metabolic disorders in Central Florida since 1995. She has experience providing medical nutrition therapy for pediatric patients with a variety of metabolic disorders, including phenylketonuria, galactosemia, fatty acid oxidation disorders, urea cycle disorders, branched-chain ketoacidosis, propionic and methylmalonic acidemia, and glycogen storage disease.

She is dedicated to improving the quality of life of her patients and enjoys educating and encouraging her patients to live life to the fullest while adhering to their very restricted diets.

Jennifer van Gelder, MS, CGC

Genetics

Jennifer van Gelder, MS, CGC, is a pediatric genetics counselor with the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Division of Genetics.

Jennifer earned a master of science degree in genetic counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She also completed a graduate certificate program with Virginia Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities that included a family mentorship experience with a child with special needs.

Jennifer's undergraduate education included earning joint bachelor of science degrees in psychology and genetics, graduating magna cum laude, from Clemson University, South Carolina.

In her current position, Jennifer assists in the treatment of patients and families with known genetic disorders, providing assessment and counseling when necessary. She is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and certified with the American Board of Genetic Counseling.

Devon Haynes, MS, CGC

Genetics

Devon Haynes, MS, CGC, is a certified genetic counselor with Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

Devon earned bachelor of arts degrees in biology and psychology from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where she graduated magna cum laude. She received her master of science in genetic counseling from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Columbia, where she earned the S. Robert Young, PhD Outstanding Genetic Counselor award.

Devon joined Orlando Health in 2015. She participates in the multidisciplinary Neurofibromatosis and Craniofacial clinics at Arnold Palmer. Devon also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of South Florida, Tampa, and helps train their genetic counseling graduate students. Devon is a member of the American Board of Genetic Counseling and the National Society of Genetic Counselors.
