Healthy Families Orange & Osceola
The Howard Phillips Center for Children and Families
Healthy Families is a home-visitation program offered in Orange and Osceola counties, based on the national Healthy Families America model that prevents child maltreatment and builds healthy, positive parenting skills for new mothers and fathers through educations, referrals and resources.
Healthy Families staff members work with parents from pregnancy until the child is five years old, facilitating parent-infant bonding, positive parent-child interaction, child health and development. Each participating family is paired with a professionally trained family support worker. Home visits focus on building trust with parents, supporting parents emotionally, reducing familial risk factors, improving communication skills and teaching skills for coping with stress.
