Bio
Cindy Alvarez is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) with Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Her specialty is adult congenital heart disease with expertise including:
- Treating adolescents with congenital heart disease as they transition to become adults
- Caring for congenital hearts during pregnancy or illness
- Monitoring long-term effects of childhood surgeries to congenital hearts
- Determining if and when additional intervention may be needed
Cindy has cared for patients in Orlando since 2011 and has served in pediatric and adult inpatient and outpatient cardiology. She strives to treat patients as if they were family.
Cindy’s Training
Cindy received associate and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from Polk State College in Winter Haven, Florida. She earned her Master of Science in nursing (MSN) from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
About Cindy
She is certified as a family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed as an APRN by the Florida Department of Health. Cindy was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International honor society for nursing.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and salsa dancing. Cindy is fluent in English and Spanish.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
