Your Child’s Safe Surgery Experience
The idea of anesthesia can be scary for a child. That’s why, as parents and care professionals, we have a responsibility to educate our littlest patients and make them as comfortable as possible with the experience.
When your child comes to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children for surgery, they’ll receive pediatric anesthesia services from our highly trained pediatric anesthesiologists. Whether it’s a routine procedure or your child has a complex medical and surgical history, our anesthesiologists are skilled in safely providing anesthesia before, during and after surgical procedures.
Anesthesiologists at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer can provide local, general, epidural and caudal anesthesia to infants, children and adolescents, as well as neonatal and premature infants. Pediatric anesthesiology services aren’t limited to surgery, but can also be used to relieve pain or to ease stress during non-operative radiology procedures, such as an MRI, and for gastroenterology procedures such as EGD (esophagogastroduodenoscopy) or colonoscopy.
Prior to your child’s procedure, you’ll meet with an anesthesiologist to learn about the anesthesia delivery plan tailored for your child and to address any questions you may have.
