Your Family’s Partner in Heart Wellness
In some instances, heart health is a lifelong journey for families. That’s why we partner with the Hughes Center for Diagnostics at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies — to provide a continuum of care for children of congenital heart defects from conception to birth and beyond.
Your family has access to a nationally recognized Fetal Cardiac Program at The Heart Center at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, which diagnoses and develops intervention plans for both fetal and neonatal therapy. And whether your child’s heart issues were discovered in utero or after birth, you can take advantage of a variety of resources, including:
- Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit: A 20-bed, state-of-the-art unit that is one of only a few in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to pediatric congenital heart care.
- Noninvasive Cardiac Imaging: The only pediatric echo lab in Central Florida accredited in transthoracic, transesophageal and fetal echocardiography.
- Pediatric Cardiac Home Monitoring Program: Weekly visits and 24/7 communication for the care and management of patients with single-ventricle heart defects between their first and second surgeries.
Heart Care for Life
Orlando Health Arnold Palmer has congenital heart disease care services for every stage of life. From infancy to childhood, adolescence to adulthood, the Fetal Cardiac Program works in tandem with Orlando Health’s Adult Congenital Heart Program to offer your child care for a lifetime.
With experience treating patients of all ages, your pediatric cardiologists and pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons will team with cardiologists and cardiac surgeons at the Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute. This allows us to leverage their expertise and experience.
