Patricia Wheeler, MD, is a geneticist at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She is board certified in medical genetics and in pediatrics.
Dr. Wheeler earned her medical degree, as well as an MS degree in medical and molecular genetics, from Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed a pediatric residency at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health. She also completed a residency and fellowship in medical and molecular genetics at Indiana University. Dr. Wheeler is a fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
Prior to joining Orlando Health Arnold Palmer in 2004, Dr. Wheeler worked as an attending geneticist at New England Medical Center, Boston, and as a genetic consultant for numerous hospitals in Massachusetts. She also served as director of the medical genetics residency program for three years at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
Dr. Wheeler is an active researcher and lecturer in the field of genetics and has had many genetics-related articles published in medical journals. She is a member of the American Society of Human Genetics.
