Bio
Dr. Michelle Amit is a board-certified pediatrician and fellowship-trained pediatric hematology and oncology specialist with Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She specializes in pediatric hematology and oncology with expertise in:
- Solid tumors
- Renal tumors
- Bone tumors
- Rhabdomyosarcoma
Dr. Amit has a special interest in clinical medical ethics, specifically the allocation of scarce resources and how that applies to pediatric oncology. She believes that even in the face of life-threatening illness, patients and their families deserve to be empowered partners in their care. Dr. Amit is committed to addressing physical symptoms while also supporting emotional, psychosocial and spiritual well-being.
Dr. Amit’s Training
Dr. Amit graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in microbiology and cell science from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She received her master’s degree in bioethics and her osteopathic medicine degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience in Missouri. Dr. Amit completed a pediatric residency at the University of Florida in Pensacola and fellowships in pediatric hematology/oncology and clinical medical ethics at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Amit is board-certified in general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. Her professional memberships include the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Children's Oncology Group.
Her research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals.
Outside of work, Dr. Amit enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, exploring new places and attending sporting events.
