Kelly Darden, DNP, APRN, CPNP-AC, is a board-certified pediatric acute care nurse practitioner with the Craniofacial Lesion Clinic at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She has more than ten years of pediatric experience within critical care, oncology, and craniomaxillofacial surgery. She currently serves in a leadership role within Orlando Health Medical Group supporting the Advanced Practice Providers for the Women and Pediatric Service Lines. Her areas of interest include vascular and soft tissue lesions as well as surgical care of craniofacial patients.

Kelly is part of an award-winning team of specialists who are one of the area's most trusted sources for pediatric craniofacial care. The team treats children with cleft lip, cleft palate and head shape abnormalities. She works with children and their families to best meet the child's unique medical, developmental and psychological needs.

The Craniofacial Lesion Clinic offers comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, follow-up care and a staged reconstructive approach to normalize speech, correct malocclusion conditions, improve facial appearance and function, and help children build and maintain self-confidence. Additional services include:

  • All phases of cleft lip and palate reconstruction
  • Complex craniofacial malformation surgery
  • Congenital growths and tumor treatment
  • Corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery
  • Craniomaxillofacial trauma surgery

Kelly Darden's Training

Kelly earned her Doctorate of Nurse Practice from the University of South Florida in Tampa and master's degree in nursing from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Additionally, she received her undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Central Florida.

About Kelly Darden

Kelly developed the nation's first postgraduate pediatric acute care nurse practitioner fellowship program in order to offer new advanced practice providers an additional year of mentored clinical practice in an acute care setting before beginning their careers.

She is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and a member of the hospital's Advanced Practice Provider Council and the U.S. News & World Report committee. Throughout her education and career, Kelly has volunteered for a number of causes, including Habitat for Humanity, Give Kids the World, Grace Medical Home and a medical mission to Malawi in Africa.
