Jamie Schwartz is a certified physician assistant (PA-C) with the Haley Center for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She specializes in pediatric hematology and oncology, and her expertise includes:

  • Leukemia
  • Lymphoma
  • Solid tumors and bone cancers such as Wilms tumor, rhabdomyosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma and osteosarcoma
  • Neuro-oncology including tumors of the brain and spinal cord as well as peripheral nerves such as neuroblastoma
  • Benign hematologic disorders such as idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, leukopenia, vascular malformations, anemia and hemophilia
  • Bone marrow transplants and cellular therapy
  • Bone marrow aspiration
  • Biopsy and lumbar puncture

Jamie values a holistic approach to patient care that includes physical, mental, emotional and social well-being to ensure her patients and their families feel comfortable and prepared every step of the way. Her clinical interests include cancer research and childhood cancers in underserved communities.

Jamie’s Training

Jamie earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at Villanova University in Pennsylvania. She received her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where she was inducted into Pi Alpha honor society for physician assistants. During her training, she performed clinical rotations at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, gaining experience in pediatric oncology and hematology.

About Jamie

Jamie is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed as a PA in Florida. Her professional memberships include the Association of PAs in Oncology, American Academy of Physician Associates, Children’s Oncology Group and American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.  

Jamie volunteers at numerous health-related events, including blood drives, school education programs, health screenings, cancer fundraisers and recreational programs for special needs children.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her dog, music and traveling.
