Bio
Dr. Christian Nieves Rivera is a board-certified pediatrician and pediatric hematology and oncology physician with Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. He specializes in pediatric neuro-oncology, and his expertise includes:
- Neurocutaneous syndromes
- Hematology
- Oncology

Dr. Nieves Rivera’s Training
Dr. Nieves Rivera earned a bachelor's degree in biology at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan and received his medical training at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. He completed his pediatric residency at San Juan City Hospital, where he served as chief fellow in his final year. Dr. Nieves Rivera completed a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he was chief fellow, and a clinical fellowship in pediatric neuro-oncology at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Dr. Nieves Rivera is double board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology and oncology by the American Board of Pediatrics. His professional memberships include the Children's Oncology Group, American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Histiocyte Society, American Society of Hematology and American Academy of Pediatrics.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, outdoor activities, water sports, exercising, traveling and discovering new cultures. Dr. Nieves Rivera is fluent in English and Spanish.
