A new study suggests 50 percent of children are mildly dehydrated. Drinking plenty of fluids, particularly water, is essential for a child to perform well in sports and school. Dr. Shaista Safder, pediatric gastroenterologist at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, appeared on Fox 35’s Good Day Orlando on Monday to talk about ways to detect dehydration in children and how to ensure they’re receiving all the fluids they need.
