Spirit of Children Brings Spooky Fun and Smiles to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital this Halloween!
Orlando, FL (October 13, 2023) – Halloween is just around the corner, and Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is thrilled to continue its exciting partnership with Spirit of Children, the fundraising arm of Spirit Halloween stores, to host a spooktacular Halloween party for our young patients and their families. This collaboration created a memorable and fun-filled Halloween celebration that lifted spirits and brought joy to children facing medical challenges.
On October 13, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer was decked out in spooky and delightful decor, setting the perfect atmosphere for a magical Halloween experience. The family-friendly event for patients, siblings and parents featured a wide array of Halloween-themed activities, decorations and surprises for all to enjoy.
Since 2007, Central Florida Spirit Halloween stores have supported Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and have raised more than 1.7 million dollars to help make hospital stays less scary for kids and their families. Funds raised support the Child Life Team at the hospital. Child Life relies heavily on philanthropy to help provide medical teaching tools, arts and craft supplies and educational technology to help patients keep up with their school’s curriculum during long hospital stays, and much more.
Justin Williams, Assistant Vice President, Orlando Health and Interim President of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, expressed the hospital’s gratitude for Spirit of Children’s generous support, saying, "We are immensely grateful for their commitment to bringing joy to our young patients during this Halloween season. This partnership not only enables us to provide a memorable and enchanting experience for our children and their families, but the funds raised in Spirit Halloween stores champions the extraordinary work of Child Life Specialist on a daily basis."
"Spirit of Children is at the heart of what we do at Spirit Halloween, and the bonds we've built through the years with our hospital partners is something very special," said Steven Silverstein, CEO of Spirit Halloween. "It's great to see so many in-person events returning this year, thanks in part to the tireless efforts of hospital staff and Spirit Halloween volunteer employees that help coordinate so many of these programs. We've seen firsthand the magical feeling these events bring to children and their families facing the difficulties of being in the hospital, and we are grateful we can play a small part in bringing Halloween joy to them this year."
