Pediatric Neurosurgeon Joins Arnold Palmer Hospital to Lead New Neuroscience Center

Orlando, FL (May 17, 2017) – Samer Elbabaa, MD, FAANS, FACS has joined Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children to head up a new pediatric neuroscience center, the first of its kind in Central Florida. The center will bring together physicians, surgeons and clinical staff to provide advanced diagnostic services, the latest surgical and non-surgical treatment options, comprehensive education and innovative research. For pediatric patients with neurological conditions, this means greater accessibility to clinical experts and more coordinated and collaborative care in a centralized location.

Dr. Elbabaa brings special expertise to the new center, including microneurosurgery for pediatric brain and spinal cord tumors and minimally-invasive neuroendoscopy. A board-certified neurosurgeon and accomplished researcher, he will serve as Arnold Palmer Hospital’s medical director of pediatric neurosurgery. Dr. Elbabaa comes to Orlando from SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, where he served as director of pediatric neurosurgery. He also served as the Reinert Endowed Chair in Pediatric Neurosurgery and Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
