Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Receives Grant to Support Childhood Cancer Research

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation awarded Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children with a $50,000 grant, which will help ensure that more patients can be treated in early-phase clinical trials, often their best hope for a cure. One of nearly 40 grant recipients, Arnold Palmer Hospital can now support research personnel responsible for opening and coordinating critical clinical trials.

Dr. Don Eslin, a pediatric oncologist with Arnold Palmer Hospital, accepted the grant on behalf of the hospital. “We are so grateful to receive these necessary funds from St. Baldrick’s. This means that more children will be able to participate in lifesaving clinical trials.”

As the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants, St. Baldrick’s gifts these infrastructure grants based on the need of the institution and its patients, anticipated results of the grant and local participation in St. Baldrick’s fundraising events and activities.
