A Decade of Halloween Spirit

Halloween can be an exciting time for children and their parents planning costumes, trick-or-treating with friends and family, and of course, candy.

Halloween can be an exciting time for children and their parents – planning costumes, trick-or-treating with friends and family, and of course, candy. However, for children in the hospital, Halloween can bring feelings of disappointment as most of our patients are left out of the normal festivities their friends are experiencing due to their medical condition.

For the last 10 years, Spirit Halloween has committed to changing this for the kids at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Not only does Spirit Halloween run an extended in-store promotion, donating 10% of costume purchases to Arnold Palmer Hospital’s Child Life Team, but they bring a full-blown Halloween party to hospital families!

The week before Halloween, the hospital partners with the store’s local teams to host an activity-based Halloween party, providing tricks and treats for kids of all ages. Children line up all day to pick out their most favorite costume, for free, from Spirit Halloween staff. On Halloween Day, the hospital hosts a Halloween Parade where patients can be seen wearing their

Spirit Halloween costumes along with big smiles.Spirit of Halloween has donated nearly $600,000 to the Child Life department at Arnold Palmer Hospital.
