Dr. Tain-Yen Hsia is a board-certified pediatric cardiac surgeon at The Heart Center at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. He performs all aspects of pediatric and congenital cardiac surgery, including heart transplantation and mechanical cardiac support. He also applies computational modeling in congenital heart disease.

In conjunction with the pediatric cardiology surgery team at The Heart Center, Dr. Hsia works closely with children and their families during treatment. He and his team are dedicated to treating each child’s unique needs, and the provide a number of advanced procedures and treatments including:
- Arrhythmia Ablation
- Cardiac ablation
- Cardiac catheterization and value replacement — diagnostic and interventional
- Cardiac surgery (neonatal, infant, child, and adult)
- Fetal cardiac care
- Inpatient cardiac services

Dr. Hsia’s Training
Dr. Hsia earned his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine in California and his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge.
He has extensive postgraduate training including: residencies in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore; a research fellowship and specialist registrar in cardiac surgery at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, England; and a congenital cardiac surgery fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Notably, Dr. Hsia has received $17.3 million dollars in research grants and served as the primary investigator for most of those studies. He also has written more than 140 peer-reviewed articles and many medically-focused chapters and books.
Dr. Hsia is certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery and a member of many professional organizations such as the Congenital Heart Surgeons Society, American Association for Thoracic Surgery, American College of Cardiology and more.
Additionally, he is a prolific speaker and has received many honors and recognition throughout his education and career. He fluent in both English and Mandarin.
