Melissa received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Florida College of Nursing in Tampa, where she also earned her Master of Science in nursing. She graduated with honors from both programs.
She wanted to become a nurse since childhood, but it was during high school when a nurse practitioner made a large impact in her life and helped shape her decision to become a nurse practitioner.
Melissa is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, an international honor society of nursing. She is certified as a family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and as a certified pediatric nurse by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She is licensed as an APRN and as a registered nurse by the Florida Department of Health.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with family, traveling, exercising, sports and outdoor activities.
