Jose A. Decamps, MD is a pediatric physician with The Heart Center at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. He holds the American board of General Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care certification. He also has a certification in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care.
Dr. Decamps earned his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in Santiago, Dominican Republic. He completed both a pediatric internship and residency at NYC Health/New York University at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he was named Resident of the Year. He went on to complete a Pediatric Critical Care fellowship at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center and Children Hospital of Orange County in California. He then completed a Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Dr. Decamps has lectured on various pediatric medical topics, including seizures, Lyme disease, adolescent substance abuse, acute heart failure, hypoplastic left heart syndrome and other critical care conditions.
Dr. Decamps is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He is fluent in both Spanish and English.
