Dr. Estefania Rodriguez is a board-certified pediatrician and fellowship-trained pediatric nephrologist with the Hewell Kids’ Kidney Center at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She diagnoses and treats diseases of the kidney in young patients, and her interests include:
- Post-transplant care
- Glomerular disorders
- Mechanisms of podocyte damage
- Congenital anomalies of the kidneys and urinary tract
- Chronic kidney disease
Passionate about children’s kidney health, she strives to provide individualized, compassionate care and to build strong, trusting relationships with her patients and their families.
Dr. Rodriguez’s Training
Dr. Rodriguez received her medical training at the Universidad del Norte Programa de Medicina in Barranquilla, Colombia, where she earned the Graduate of Excellence Award, given to the top 6% of the class.
She completed her residency in pediatrics at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York, where she was the pediatric academic chief resident in her final year. Her fellowship in pediatric nephrology was performed at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, where she also conducted podocyte biology research at the Campbell laboratory.

She is board certified in general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, and her research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals.
Her professional memberships include the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, American Academy of Pediatrics and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Outside of work, Dr. Rodriguez enjoys cooking, amateur cycling and spending time with her family. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
