Edwin Ortega is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) with the Endocrinology and Diabetes Center at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. He has cared for young patients in Central Florida since 2012, and his expertise includes:
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- Thyroid disorders
- Poor growth
- Adrenal disorders
- Precocious and delayed puberty
Edwin uses empathy with pediatric patients to ease their fears and build trust. Working to overcome his own health challenges and those of family members inspires Edwin to relate to his patients and provide the best support possible.
Edwin’s Training
He earned bachelor’s degrees in anthropology from the University of Florida in Gainesville and in nursing from Remington College of Nursing in Lake Mary, Florida. Edwin received his master’s degree in nursing, family nurse practitioner track, at South University in Tampa, Florida.

Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family and taking in local events. Edwin is fluent in English and Spanish.
