Dionne Walker is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner in primary care (CPNP-PC) in the pediatric neurology department at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She specializes in care for children, adolescents and young adults with chronic or acute neurological conditions. Her expertise includes:
- Physical and psychosocial assessment
- Formulate treatment plans
- Implement medical management
Dionne partly credits her pursuit of a medical career to witnessing the nursing care her grandmother received when ill and hospitalized, and she has always been passionate about helping others.
Her philosophy is to deliver quality, empathetic and compassionate care to all of her patients and their caregivers, taking into consideration all factors of their lives that might impact their physical well-being. She wants to make a difference in the lives of her patients and their families.
Dionne’s Training
After earning her bachelor's degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, she received an associate degree from CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College and her Master of Science in nursing (MSN) from the State University of New York in Stony Brook.
About Dionne
Dionne is board certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a pediatric primary care nurse practitioner and by the Florida Department of Health as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and registered nurse.
She worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner for eight years before shifting her focus to neurology.
Outside of work, Dionne enjoys being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
She is fluent in Spanish and English.
