Dr. Christine Bessett is a board-certified pediatrician at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. As a pediatric hospitalist, she sees young patients in the hospital and coordinates their care with specialty physicians.
Dr. Bessett has been a pediatric hospitalist at Orlando Health since 2015. During that time, she has helped develop treatment protocols for asthma and neonatal abstinence syndrome for babies exposed to drugs while in the womb.
She has experience in:
- Ordering and interpreting lab tests
- Prescribing medications
- Referring to specialists when needed
- Overseeing patient care
Dr. Bessett takes a holistic approach in guiding patients to prevent illness, set goals and build healthy, realistic habits.
Dr. Bessett’s Training
As an undergraduate, Dr. Bessett studied medical biology at the University of New England (UNE) in Biddeford, Maine, where she graduated cum laude. She earned her degree in osteopathic medicine (DO) from the UNE College of Osteopathic Medicine, also in Biddeford, and completed her pediatrics residency at Orlando Health.
