Bio
Dr. Anita Vitale is a licensed clinical psychologist with Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Neuropsychology. She provides psychological care for pediatric patients experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties, and her expertise includes:
- Strategies for coping with acute and chronic medical conditions
- Medical nonadherence
- Medical trauma
- Chronic pain management
- Grief and bereavement
By employing an individual approach, Dr. Vitale hopes to ease concerns about medical diagnoses and treatments and improve the overall well-being and quality of life for her young patients and their families.
Dr. Vitale’s Training
Dr. Vitale received her bachelor’s degree in psychology, from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, graduating with high distinction. She earned her master's degree and PhD in clinical psychology from Nova Southeastern University College of Psychology in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and completed her fellowship in pediatric psychology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center/Oklahoma City VA Consortium.
About Dr. Vitale
She is a member of the American Psychological Association and is licensed as a psychologist by the Florida Department of Health.
Dr. Vitale has volunteered as a director for a crisis hotline and as a counselor at camps for children living with disabilities, hemophilia, diabetes and those suffering loss.
She has published and presented on topics including coping with celiac disease, childhood trauma and psychological factors of limb lengthening.
Outside of work, Dr. Vitale enjoys spending time with family, running, cycling and supporting the University of Virginia sports teams.

Why do some Orlando Health physicians not have a patient experience rating?
The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
