Dr. Amina Rafique is a board-certified pediatric hematologist-oncologist with the Haley Center for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She specializes in rare hematological conditions, with a focus on bleeding disorders and hemoglobinopathies. Her expertise includes:

  • Hemophilia
  • Von Willebrand disease
  • Women with bleeding disorders
  • Sickle cell disease
  • Thalassemia

Dr. Rafique's Training

She received her medical training with highest honors at King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan. Dr. Rafique completed a pediatric residency at the University of Illinois and Rush University in Chicago. She also completed a pediatric hematology and oncology fellowship at the University of Illinois, followed by a pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplant fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.

About Dr. Rafique

Dr. Rafique is board certified in pediatric hematology-oncology and general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. Her professional memberships include the American Academy of Pediatrics, Children’s Oncology Group, Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society, American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American Society of Bone Marrow Transplant and Women and Girls Sickle Cell Disease Learning Action Network.

She has taught at Wake Forest University and Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute in North Carolina and Tulane University in New Orleans. Dr. Rafique also served on the medical executive committee at University Medical Center in New Orleans.

Her contributions have been recognized through numerous awards, including the Resident Teacher Award from the University of Illinois, Faculty Research Award from Tulane University and Young Investigator Award from the American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology. Dr. Rafique also has been recognized as a Doctor-to-Doctor World’s Top 100 by the Global Summits Institute and a Top Doctor from Castle Connolly.

Outside of work, Dr. Rafique enjoys spending time with family, swimming, hiking and kickboxing.
