Bio
Kevin Beers, DO, is a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon with the Orlando Health Children's Heart Institute. He specializes in treating congenital heart defects and acquired heart conditions in infants and children.
Skilled Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery
With specialization in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery, Dr. Beers has the extensive experience and the skill to treat even the littlest patients with structural problems and other abnormalities of the heart and chest. A few of the procedures he performs include:
- Cardiac Surgery (in the neonate, child and adult)
- Valve repair and replacement
- Inpatient cardiac services
Dr. Beers’s Training
Dr. Beers is a board-certified Thoracic and Congenital Heart Surgeon. He earned his doctorate at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, followed by a residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Texas Health San Antonio. While at the University of Texas Health, he served as chief resident of cardiothoracic surgery. He then went on to complete a fellowship in congenital cardiac surgery at Children's Mercy Hospital, in Kansas City, Missouri.
About Dr. Beers
In addition to his board-certifications by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, he is active in his profession as a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Southern Thoracic Surgery Association, and the American Osteopathic Association.
Other accomplishments include serving as a reviewer for multiple peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and presentation of research at national society meetings. Dr. Beers also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
