Undergoing an MRI or ultrasound can be especially stressful for a child and requires a delicate approach that only an experienced pediatric team can provide. It can also be nerve-racking for you, as a parent. When your child has a health concern, you want answers and you want them fast. At Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, we offer comprehensive, state-of-the-art radiology and imaging services in a warm, caring and family friendly environment that caters to the unique needs of children. In an effort to help your child feel comfortable, our amenities include interactive game stations, art activities assisted by volunteers, and a catalog of HD movies to view during MRI exams. Our staff also includes a Child Life specialist to help our young patients relax for more extensive diagnostic procedures.

Our completely digital imaging system allows your child’s physician to have access to your child’s imaging results from their home or office. And all test results are interpreted by board-certified radiologists to help ensure that the unique physical conditions of childhood are being taken into consideration. This recognition represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety, and is awarded only to those who meet the ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards. The equipment we use is manufactured and calibrated to allow for the lowest possible radiation dose for our smallest patients.

In some cases, your child may need to be sedated for an MRI or CT scan to make him or her more comfortable during the procedure. We also offer one of the most comprehensive sedation programs in Central Florida. Our sedation team includes board-certified pediatric anesthesiologists, registered nurses and certified technologists.
