Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies Receive Top Hospital Awards

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has been named a Top Children’s Hospital by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit operated by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits. The group also named Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies a Top Teaching Hospital.

The Top Hospital program is one of the most elite hospital quality awards in the country and identifies facilities that have systems in place to prevent medical errors, provide top-notch care and lower readmission rates. “This is great news for our team,” said Dr. Lawrence Spack, chief quality officer for Arnold Palmer Hospital. “We’re grateful to be recognized for the dedicated and excellent care we provide for our patients every day.”

A new category in 2016, the Top Teaching Hospital designation was given to 29 hospitals nationwide. “We are honored to have the opportunity to train the next generation of physicians and nursing staff,” said Louise Kaigle, chief nursing officer for Arnold Palmer Hospital and Winnie Palmer Hospital.

Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies is a 285-bed facility dedicated exclusively to the needs of women and babies.
