Carmen E. Román Boneu, LD, RD, MBA
Carmen E. Román Boneu, LD, RD, MBA, is a registered dietitian nutritionist with the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Center for Digestive Health and Nutrition. Carmen earned a bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetic studies from the University of Puerto Rico. She completed residencies in primary care and dietetics at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Puerto Rico. She also earned a master's degree in business administration from Bayamon Central University, Puerto Rico. Prior to joining Orlando Health, Carmen worked seven years as a dietitian at several different hospitals in Puerto Rico, including Doctors' Center Hospital in Bayamon, Metropolitan Hospital in Río Piedras, and Hospital Auxilio Mutuo in Hato Rey. Carmen is dedicated to improving the quality life of patients through nutrition and has experience supporting individuals with a variety of health challenges, including diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, hemodialysis, kidney transplant and cancer.
Nneka Ricketts-Cameron, RD, LD
Nneka earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., and completed an accredited internship at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. Since 2003, Nneka has served as a registered and licensed dietitian in the Orlando, Fla., area, providing medical nutrition therapy to patients of all ages. She joined the Arnold Palmer Hospital Center for Digestive Health and Nutrition in 2008.
Brenda I. Cardenas, ARNP, CPNP
Brenda I. Cardenas, ARNP, CPNP, earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Adventist University of Health Sciences in Orlando, Fla., in 2002. She received her master’s degree in nursing from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla., in 2013. Brenda worked as a registered nurse at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children for 12 years and is currently with the Arnold Palmer Hospital Center for Digestive Health and Nutrition. Brenda has national certification in pediatric practice by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB). She is also a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and the Association of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Nurses (APGNN).
Tamara Sims-Dorway, RD, CSP, LD
Tamara graduated from UF with a bachelor’s degree in food science and human nutrition and completed her dietetic internship with the Pasco County Health Department, which included rotations through Shands Hospital, the St. Augustine School System, and affiliated hospitals in Jacksonville. She is board-certified as a specialist in pediatric nutrition and volunteers within civic organizations.
Teri Jackson, MSN, ARNP
A graduate of the University of Maryland School of Nursing, Teri discovered her love for pediatric gastroenterology at the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Division. She worked in general pediatrics until returning to pediatric gastroenterology. She is an active member of several industry organizations including NAPNAP, AANP and APGNN.
Carolina Raijer, MSN, ARNP
Carolina earned her nursing degree from UF and worked as an RN at Shands HealthCare in Gainesville. She joined the Arnold Palmer Hospital Center for Digestive Health and Nutrition in 2008 and has national certification in pediatric practice by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International.
