Xiomara M. Santos, MD, graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After finishing her residency, Dr. Santos completed her fellowship in pediatric and adolescent gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine. Before joining the team at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in 2015, Dr. Santos spent four years at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas, as an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology, and as a pediatric and adolescent gynecology faculty member.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Santos evaluates and treats a variety of gynecological conditions in children and adolescents including congenital anomalies of the reproductive tract, ovarian/adnexal cysts, vulvovaginal concerns, menstrual disorders (irregular, heavy, or painful menses), polycystic ovarian syndrome, menstrual suppression, endometriosis, and contraceptive management with complex medical problems. She is currently a board member of the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and a reviewer for the Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. Dr. Santos has authored several papers and presented research findings at numerous national meetings.
