Stefanie Westring, DPT, PT, is a physical therapist with the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Pediatric Rehabilitation Program. She works with a broad range of pediatric conditions from neurodevelopmental to orthopedic impairments in children from birth to 21 years old. While she is trained to work with a variety of diagnoses, she specializes in pediatric headaches and cervical spine dysfunction.

Pediatric Headaches

Pediatric headaches are common in children and often triggered by tension, minor illness and more. However, some headaches may signal a more serious problem. Children who experience headaches that worsen rapidly and increase in frequency and severity may require medical attention.

Westring is part of a team of experts who work to diagnose and treat these debilitating headaches. As a physical therapist, she addresses serious tension in the head and neck and works with her patients to alleviate this tension and the severity of their headaches.

Cervical Spine Dysfunction

For children with cervical spine dysfunction, physical therapy may help them avoid surgery. With this less invasive approach, Westring uses targeted exercises to strengthen the spine and help children overcome spinal curvature and deformities by acclimating them to their posture and positioning.

Stefanie Westring's Training

Westring earned her doctorate degree in physical therapy from the University of Miami and undergraduate degree in health sciences from the University of Central Florida. She gained clinical experience working in a variety of settings, including adult acute care, adult orthopedics and outpatient pediatric rehabilitation. She also has participated in advanced training for the cervical spine as well as the application of biofeedback for chronic migraines.

About Stefanie Westring

In addition to caring for patients, Westring is a member of an Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children outpatient rehabilitation team collecting case studies to formulate a research study on the effectiveness of biofeedback technology coupled with physical therapy interventions in alleviating or lessening symptoms associated with chronic headaches.

She has advanced training and certification in cervical spine management and the application of biofeedback technology.
