Dr. Ryan Dean is a board-certified pediatrician at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. As a hospitalist, he treats pediatric patients in the hospital until they are well enough to be discharged and continue receiving care from their primary care provider.
He has devoted his medical career to working with children and newborns and has experience in:
- Newborn wellness checkups
- Diagnosing and treating complex cases
- Making referrals to specialists when necessary
- Ordering and interpreting lab tests
Dr. Dean’s Training
As an undergraduate, Dr. Dean graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics, and was chief resident, at Greenville Health System in South Carolina.
About Dr. Dean
Dr. Dean is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). He is also certified with the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Internal Medicine. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Physicians and the Society of Hospital Medicine. He has researched asthma management, urinary tract infection treatment, neonatal jaundice and bone disorders.
Outside of work, he enjoys ballroom dancing with his wife, playing piano and soccer, listening to jazz, and hiking and camping.
