Board Certified in Pediatrics

Ololade Akintoye, MD, is a physician with The Heart Center at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She is board certified in pediatrics and board eligible in pediatric cardiology. Her clinical interests include perinatal/neonatal cardiology and noninvasive imaging.

Dr. Akintoye earned a bachelor of science degree in microbiology with honors from the University of Georgia. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed a pediatrics residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Ohio, and a pediatric cardiology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. Most recently, she completed training in advanced cardiovascular noninvasive imaging and fetal cardiology at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta/Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Akintoye has participated in research concerning hypertension in children and adolescents, cardiac transplantation in Duchenne muscular dystrophy; and children with hypoplastic left heart syndrome.

She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography.
