Helping Victims Survive and Thrive
When healing children and families of sexual and physical abuse — and the mental abuse that oftentimes comes with each — it’s not enough to just identify “What is child abuse,” but to also answer the question, “How will my child and I work through this and move on?”
The Healing Tree provides assistance for any child who has experienced sexual or physical abuse, from preschool through age 17. This leading treatment facility helps strengthen the family unit and supports long-term recovery through:
- Confidential crisis counseling (including for non-offending caregivers)
- Educational programs on sexual assault prevention, awareness and recovery
- Individual, group and family therapy sessions for children and caregivers
- Referral services
The Healing Tree also offers a treatment program for families that remained intact or have been reunified after the physical abuse of a child. Through counseling, families are helped to heal, and caregivers receive coping and parenting skills to reduce the likelihood of re-abuse.
A Healing Approach
For over 30 years, families have come to The Healing Tree for its leading treatment of children who have been victims of sexual abuse and physical abuse. Counselors here work with you and your family, using play therapy techniques to allow kids to express themselves comfortably. This approach includes the use of sand trays, puppets, dolls, drawing and other activities.
