Protecting the Powerless
Many children of child abuse are often trapped by circumstance or merely exist in the shadows. Central Florida’s Child Protection Team provides recommendations on intervention — to preserve the health and wellness of a child and ensure that each child has a safe environment in which to grow.
Co-located in the Orange and Osceola Children’s Advocacy Center, this team assesses the risk factors facing a child and develops an assessment for the Department of Children and Families and law enforcement. You can reach the team 24/7 for consultation by phone or for immediate, in-person emergency services.
Security and Support
Providing the right level of child support for child abuse victims occurs on several levels. The child services team achieves this through:
- Medical diagnosis and evaluation (both onsite and at local hospitals)
- Child and family psychosocial assessments
- Psychological evaluations
- Specialized and forensic interviews
- Expert court testimony
