You can help make miracles happen, too

A few months ago, I had the privilege of attending a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ ceremony honoring children who have suffered illness or injury. During this exuberant celebration, children of all shapes, sizes, and abilities danced down the aisle with their favorite Disney characters to celebrate. Their smiles simply radiated joy. As I grinned and clapped along with them, though, I couldn’t help but think about the life and death struggles that many of these children have faced. With their bald heads from chemotherapy, their scars a reminder of past surgeries, or their IV medications disguised in a Mickey Mouse backpack, the battle was evident. And yet, they kept smiling.

It occurred to me that the happiness they shared with this room also came with a sense of gratitude. They have faced terrible circumstances- cancer, heart surgery, birth defects, critical injuries- yet their joy comes from the gratitude of having another chance at life.

I felt so honored to join in the celebration of these precious little lives, and it ignited in me a renewed sense of purpose. This is why we at Arnold Palmer Hospital do what we do- because of the hope that we have for every child to enjoy and celebrate the life they’ve been given.

We also share this passion with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN). Because of their dedication to raising funds to help hospitals like ours, it enables us to better provide for the medical needs of the little ones in our community. Money that is raised by CMN can help us purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment such as incubators for premature babies or critical care ambulances, conduct research to prevent and treat serious illnesses, or support the building and expansion of services that our hospital offers. We are proud to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to ensure that miracles happen every day for the children in Central Florida.

What can you do?

During this holiday season, you can help us give miracles to little ones in need.

All of the funds are raised one dollar at a time- by our local community and for our local community.During the four-day Radiothon, listeners will hear the stories of doctors, patients, parents, and families whose lives have been touched by Children’s Miracle Network through these two hospitals.
