Mary M. Farrell, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician with Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Pediatric Critical Care Services. She also serves as pediatrician-in-chief at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer.
Dr. Farrell earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees from University College Dublin, Ireland. She completed an initial internship and residency at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin, focusing on internal medicine, surgery and rheumatology. She did further training in the U.S., completing a pediatric internship at Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, followed by a pediatric residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Subsequently, she completed a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Children’s Medical Center Dallas.
Dr. Farrell joined Arnold Palmer in 1990 as a member of the pediatric critical care team. More recently, she has served as chief of staff of Orlando Health, chair of the Department of Pediatrics and medical director of the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Dr. Farrell has done research in pediatric neurological disorders, pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest, pediatric brain death and cystic fibrosis.
