Keeping Community Health a Priority
The Community Benefit Report highlights our commitment to community health in Central Florida. Through our community outreach efforts, we meet identified health needs, particularly among vulnerable, uninsured and underserved communities.
You might recognize our outreach efforts when you attend screenings, health fairs, support groups and wellness activities. Or perhaps you have seen our name as a sponsor at an event. If you’re a medical professional, maybe you’ve benefited from our educational efforts with future physicians, nurses and other health professionals. Throughout Central Florida, in many ways, we strive to improve the lives of the individuals and communities we serve.
Understanding the Needs of the Community
In order to best serve the community, it’s important that we have a full understanding of our community’s health needs. In 2013, in partnership with our parent organization Orlando Health, along with fellow healthcare organizations, we conducted a first-ever, multihospital, public health department joint community health needs assessment. The resulting assessment improves our understanding of Central Floridians’ health. Empowered by information, we can build capacity through affiliated development and collaboration, working side by side within Central Florida to address community health needs.
