Delivering Care with Compassion

 Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery

Each year in the United States, approximately 6,000 infants are born with a facial condition that requires coordinated multidisciplinary care. And 1 in every 700 infants is born with a cleft lip or cleft palate. At Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, we want to be your most trusted source for pediatric facial reconstructive surgical care. Our Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery specialty practice has a subspecialized team, providing state-of-the-art care for infants, children and adolescents with a variety of congenital and acquired facial conditions.

If you’re pregnant and have received a diagnosis of cleft lip, cleft palate or head shape abnormality, we offer prenatal counseling to get you the support you need. You may be confused and uncertain as to what the future holds for your baby, but you’re not alone. We’ll be with you every step of the way. Your baby’s multidisciplinary cleft and craniofacial disorders team will provide treatment that is comprehensive, compassionate and highly personalized. Our goal is to get to know you and your child so we can best meet your child’s unique medical, developmental and psychological needs.

The Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Advantage

Our unique Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery specialty practice incorporates the latest advances for the rehabilitation of even the most complex facial abnormalities — all under the direction of our board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric craniomaxillofacial surgeons. We offer comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, follow-up care and a staged reconstructive approach to normalize speech, correct dental malocclusion conditions, improve facial appearance and function and help your child develop and maintain self-confidence. And you can take a deep breath and rest assured in the knowledge that your child’s team will work closely with you, your family and your child’s pediatrician before, during and after treatment to ensure the best possible outcome.

In addition to maintaining an active clinical practice, the Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery team is also highly involved in ongoing facial reconstructive surgery research. Team members actively participate in the education of residents, medical students and dental students. The division currently hosts a fellowship training program in Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery.
